You're supposed to be the Chosen People of the Covenant with
YHWH. Go back and read the very
predictable pattern outlined in the Torah: When we obey YHWH's instructions we
prosper and are blessed. When a
generation falls away in disobedience we bring curses upon ourselves and
victory to our enemies. Here's a brief
synopsis of how this played out in 1374 BC according to Judges 2:1-15:
The angel of YHWH went up from Gilgal to Bokim and said, “I
brought you up out of Egypt and led you into the land I swore to give to your
ancestors. Yet you have disobeyed me.
Why have you done this? When the
angel of YHWH had spoken these things to all the Israelites, the people wept
aloud. There they offered sacrifices to
YHWH (They repented). After Joshua had
dismissed the Israelites, they went to take possession of the land, each to
their own inheritance. The people
served YHWH throughout the lifetime of Joshua.
After that whole generation died off, another generation grew up who
knew neither YHWH nor what he had done for Israel. Then the Israelites did evil in the eyes of
YHWH and served the Baals. Whenever
Israel went out to fight, the hand of YHWH was against them to defeat them, just
as he had sworn to them. They were in great distress.
Application: We have
to know that if we claim to be people of the Covenant, we are like that
generation that failed to obey the Shema of Deut. 6 which mandates that we love
and obey YHWH our Elohim with all of our heart and teach His Word DILIGENTLY to
our children. We have allowed whole
generations to come up who do not know our God!
Now, after the blessing of the Father to restore the nation of Israel on
the earth in 1948 after an attempted genocide by Hitler, we are now surrounded
by enemies seeking to kill us all.
What must we do? We must repent and return to the Torah of
our fathers, but even more so, we must all receive and acknowledge that our
Messiah is Yeshua who came unto his own and his own knew him not according to the scriptures.
Isaiah 53: He (Yeshua) was despised and rejected by mankind,
a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. He was despised, and we held him in
low esteem. Surely he took up our pain
and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him,
and afflicted. But he was pierced for
our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that
brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of
us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did
not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep
before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth. By oppression and judgment he was taken
away. Yet who of his generation
protested? He was assigned a grave with
the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no
violence, nor was any deceit in his
mouth. He poured out his life unto
death, and was numbered with the transgressors.
For he bore the sin of many, and
made intercession for the transgressors.
Yes, these are critical times and what will another year
bring to Israel? All I know is that God
has a plan and we can submit to His plan and repent, or we can try and do
things our own way which will surely not end well. I long for the day when the divided Kingdoms
of Israel will once again become united as the People of God and serve Him as the One true God. But until
that day, we as individuals are a tabernacle of the Holy Spirit when we invite
Him to take up residence in our hearts.
May each one now repent, offer ourselves anew and live now and forever
in the peace and blessings of His written Word and the Living Word, Yeshua
HaMashiach!
